woodcut papercutting embossing produced in 2023
Materials: paper, ink, wood
Sheet size: 190 x 215mm
Shirokoma collects small scraps of 19th-century European and American antique lace and reconstructs them on a computer, creating his own new lace patterns. The patterns are then cut into paper using a laser cutter, printed on a woodblock, and embossed on a press. Finally, the work is completed after a long process.

Born in 1994, Shirokoma graduated from the Tama Art University graduate school in 2021.
